Natàlia Castellana (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain): Local Gorenstein duality
Abstract
There are several equivalent characterizations of local commutative Gorenstein rings which, in stable homotopy theory, have inspired the notions of Gorenstein ring spectrum (Dwyer-Greenlees-Iyengar) and Gorenstein duality. We will discuss the notion of local Gorenstein duality introduced by Barthel-Heard-Valenzuela which has structural implications on the homotopy groups of the ring spectrum. By describing how this property behaves with respect to ascent/descend techniques, we will focus on examples mostly coming from k-valued cochains on a space where k is a field.
This is joint work with T. Barthel, D. Heard and G. Valenzuela.
