Abstract

I will discuss restrictions on topological, locally linear actions of elementary abelian p-groups on 4-manifolds, including:
(i) conditions for the collapse of the Borel spectral sequence for actions of cyclic groups of prime order, and (ii) upper bounds on the rank of finite groups acting homologically trivially with discrete singular set.
