Thomas Nikolaus (WWU Münster): On the Beilinson fibre sequence
Abstract
We report on joint work with B. Antieau, A. Mathew and M. Morrow. The main result is a strenghtening and a new proof of a fibre sequence established by Beilinson. This fibre sequence relates K-theory of a p-adic ring relative to the ideal p to cyclic homology. The new proof only uses results about (topological) cyclic homology and avoids the use of p-adic Lie theory. If time permits then we explain applications and relations to arithmetic cohomology theories.
