Merlin Christ (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn):
A survey on perverse schobers
Abstract
Perverse schobers are a notion of (topological) perverse sheaf of stable infinity-categories, proposed by Kapranov-Schechtman, whose general theory remains conjectural. The goal of this talk will be to survey parts of the existing theory with emphasis on the appearing infinity- and (infinity,2)-categorical structures. After summarizing the philosophy of the type of categorification, which replaces vector spaces by stable infinity categories, we will discuss how to describe perverse schobers on the discs and other surfaces. We will describe how to associate a well-defined (infinity,2)-category of perverse schobers to a surface. We will also indicate the relation with the Waldhausen S-construction and Fukaya categories. Partially based on ongoing joint work with Fernando Abellán and Gustavo Jasso.
