Oscar Harr (Københavns Universitet): Stokes theorem and characteristic classes for handlebody bundles

Abstract

We introduce the tautological subalgebra of the cohomology of the moduli space BDiff(W), where W is an manifold with boundary. When d is an odd-dimensional manifold, we show that the tautological ring is generated by characteristic classes of the associated boundary bundle. We also discuss how to prove new relations among these characteristic classes using a sheaf-theoretic version of the fiberwise Stokes theorem.
