Dustin Clausen (RFWU Bonn): The algebraic topology of p-adic Lie groups.

Abstract

Lazard proved that the continuous cohomology of a compact p-torsionfree p-adic Lie group, with (mod p^n) coefficients, satisfies Poincare duality. This indicates an analogy between p-adic Lie groups and real manifolds, at the level of cohomology. I will discuss some results which attempt to broaden this analogy.
