On the topological Hochschild homology of E(2)

Abstract
McClure and Staffeld proved in an intriguing computation that THH(E(1)), the topological Hochschild homology of the periodic Adams summand E(1) at an odd prime, splits as a wedge sum of E(1) and a rationalized suspension of E(1). In joint work with Birgit Richter, we compute the Morava K-theories of THH(E(2)), where E(2) is the Johnson-Wilson spectrum of height two at an odd prime. Under the assumption that E(2) is commutative, we show that THH(E(2)) splits in an analogous way.
