CLEMENS BERGER (Nice, MPIM): Lifting left properness to monoids and related structures (24 April 2012)

Abstract

We study the existence and left properness of transferred model structures for different kinds of "monoid-like'' objects in general monoidal model categories. These include genuin monoids, but also reduced symmetric operads and reduced $n$-operads. In order to ensure left properness of the transferred model structures we introduce a strengthening of the monoid axiom of Schwede and Shipley, based on a model-theoretical notion of $h$-cofibration which seems of independent interest.
