Teaching next semester (SoSe 2020):

We will offer two Graduate seminars: (here some short description - details will come later)

1) Super Mathematics

This seminar will deal with several different aspects of super, that is Z/2Z-graded structures. We will in particular study Lie superalgebras and their representation theory. The categories of finite dimensional representations are very interesting tensor categories, which are not semisimple. On the way one can learn several general theory which is important in modern representation theory.

2) Exceptional sequences and the geometry of Grassmannians

Exceptional sequences are important tools in understanding the structure of many nice categories arising in representation theory and geometry. They allow to filter categories such that subquotients are semisimple. An important question is whether such exceptional sequences exist and how they look like. In representation theory they arise for instance from highest weight categories and their standard objects, geometrically they are often more involved. We will study the general theory and then in particular apply it to (partially open) problems around the geometry and categories of sheaves on Grassmannians.
