Microlocal Analysis

The main objects to be introduced will be pseudodifferential operators and wavefront sets of distributions, both on Rⁿ and on manifolds. Time permitting, we will prove Hörmander's propagation of singularities theorem and discuss some applications. We will closely follow Peter Hintz' lecture notes - see there for a nice introduction and motivation from the point of view of PDE.

Some prior exposure to distributions and the Fourier transform will be useful, but I will recap important aspects depending on the audience.
