Using eduroam with an HRZ account

Though participating in edurom, Bonn University unfortunally offers no information regarding its configuration. So, if you would like to use eduroam and already own a central account, contact us for having your laptop configured. You may also try for yourself using the following information if you like:

Everywhere, eduroam uses the encryption generally known as Enterprise WPA2 or 802.1x. Accounts issued by Bonn University have to use an Authentication Method called EAP-TTLS/PAP. Probably, you will first have to chose TTLS (short for Tunneled TLS) and then look for an item letting you select PAP. For your username (or Inner Identity) enter your name@uni-bonn.de account name. If asked for an Outer Identity or Roaming Identity, enter the value anonymous@uni-bonn.de. The certificate used by Bonn's RADIUS server can be authenticated using the CA Certificate Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2 included with many operating systems.
