PD Dr. Igor Burban
Wintersemester 2011
Content
The goal of this lecture is to give an introduction into the classical theory of normal surface singularities.
In particular, the following subjects will be discussed.
- Normal rings and normalization, algorithmic aspects
- Generalities on normal surface singularities
- Du Val singularities, classification of finite subgroups of SL(2, C)
- Minimal resolution of a normal surface singularity
- Intersection matrix, fundamental cycle, explicit computations of them
- Rational and minimally elliptic singularities
Prerequisities
